OSHA Complaint Inspection Process
Join Chris as he takes the audience through a presentation detailing the steps of an OSHA inspection. This presentation begins with a complaint being filed with OSHA and follows the process through to the informal conference. These questions and more will be answered: How does the Compliance Officer prepare for the inspection? On the day(s) of the inspection, what happens during the Opening, Walk Around, and Closing conferences? What are the employer and employee rights? If citations are issued, what is the timeframe and steps of the Informal Conference?
About the Presenter
Chris Matthewson worked in the construction industry as an electrician for Local 688 in Mansfield, OH for 14 years.
In 1992 Chris began his OSHA career. He started as a Compliance Officer recording more than 500 inspections. He became qualified as an electrical expert in Federal Court in 1999. He has also worked as a Compliance Assistance Specialist and a Labor Liaison working proactively for safety in the workplace.
He graduated from Franklin University in Ohio with a degree in Business.
He continues to be an OSHA 10 and 30 hour trainer in construction.
After retiring from OSHA, Chris started a consulting company, Chris Matthewson Safety Consulting, LLC.
